Which should you pick?
Pick Zoom’s translated captions if your own company hosts the meetings and already pays for the tier that includes them: everybody in the room gets captions, not just you, and there is nothing to install. Pick Tingdong if you are the guest rather than the host, if your plan does not include it, if the next thing you need translated is not a Zoom meeting at all, or if you want the translation spoken instead of read. Can I get translated captions in Zoom on a free account?
Not from Zoom itself: translated captions sit on Business Plus and above, or on the paid add-on (Zoom’s support article, as recorded on 2026-09-15). Tingdong works on any Zoom account, including free ones, because it captions the meeting audio on your Mac instead of inside Zoom.
Will the host or the other participants see anything?
